It is not only human's nature, but of the demigods too to dislike those with bad fame and name. Shani is one of the name most of human beings as well as celestial bodies don't like his company. And it is not the matter of disliking only but of feering too.

Who in the world would love such a cold, plain and dreadful planet with cruelty as his ornament. This is the kind of fate Shani (Saturn) holds for himself in the ‘Universal scheme of existence', despite of being designated as the Magistrate among all planets, whose influence is extremely dread and who in his period of activeness brings in harsh Karmic lessons to not only human beings but all celestial units around him in the sky.

Shani can be portrayed as a 'Galactic Policeman', who keeps a tight watch on the Galaxies following ‘Karmic system'. He has two assistance provided to him as Rahu and Ketu. Being the oldest Planet of the universe, Rahu and Ketu are designated as Karmic Store Rooms. Ketu being related to every moment that passes by, archives each and every karma performed by us. And taking into account what Ketu has stored, Rahu gives direction to our Future Karmic Path.

Shani gets every help from these 'Karmic Store Rooms' when it comes to provide us with the consequences of the Karmas been committed by us in the past. And the most important fact to notice is that it is not only the bad consequences that Shani brings with him in his period of activeness. Shani works without discriminating in good or bad.

He is as plain, cold and refined as a magistrate should be. This description as a 'Galactic policeman' is just a caricature. Otherwise the period when Shani influences our chat can turn out to be the best and Golden period of our life - 'only if we seek wisdom and higher knowledge of the universal functionality'.

जी हाँ, जब तक आप शनि की वास्तविक्ता को व उनकी उदारता को नहीं समझेंगे, उनसे प्रेम करना तो दूर उनका आदर भी नहीं कर सकेंगे। जब तक आप नासमझ ज्यातिषियों और डर का वातावरण बनाकर अपना फायदा करने वाले पंडितों और तथाकथित बुद्धिजीवियों की करनी से स्वयं को अलग करके नहीं सोचेंगे, तब तक उनसे प्रेम कर नहीं कर पाएंगे। "और मेरा विश्वास है कि किसी मनुष्य द्वारा की गई यह सबसे बड़ी गलतियों में से एक है।"

न्यायधीश की उपाधि प्राप्त होने के उपरांत भी ‘प्राकृतिक संहिता‘ की कार्यप्रणाली के कारण शनि को इस प्रकार का प्रारब्ध प्राप्त हुआ जिसका प्रभाव सामान्यतः भयंकर ही होता है और जिसकी सक्रियता कठोर कार्मिक सबक सिखाती है। और शनि का यह प्रभाव केवल मनुष्य जाति पर ही नहीं वरन् अन्य ग्रहों, राशियों, नक्षत्रों, देवों, असुरों आदि सभी पर होता है।

तात्विक दृष्टि से देखें तो शनि को ‘वैश्विक पुलिसवाला‘ भी कह सकते हैं, जो उन सभी लोकों पर अपनी सख्त निगाह रखते हैं जो ‘कर्मों के सिद्धांत‘ को अपनाते एवं मानते हैं। कर्मफलदाता होने के नाते शनि का प्रभाव हमारे जीवन पर हर समय बना ही रहता है। ‘शनि की सक्रियता अवधि‘ का अर्थ है उनकी दशाऐं, गोचर, साढे-साती, ढइया आदि।

‘प्राकृतिक संहिता‘ ने शनि के लिए दो ‘सहायक ग्रह‘ नियुक्त किए हैं - राहु एवं केतु। ब्रह्मांड के सबसे पुराने ग्रह होने के नाते राहु व केतु को कर्मों को संजो कर रखने वाला कहा गया है। केतु हर बीतने वाले क्षण से संबंधित है और हमारे द्वारा किए गए हर कर्म को संग्रहित करता है! और राहु हमारे भविष्य के कर्म पथ का प्रबंधन करता है। कर्म फल देने हेतु शनि को इन दोनों ‘कर्म संग्राहक ग्रहों‘ से सहायता मिलती है।

सबसे महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य यह है कि अपनी सक्रियता के समय शनि मात्र पाप कर्मों से उत्पन्न दुःख ही नहीं देते हैं वरन् परमसुख भी प्रदान करते हैं । वे अच्छे और बुरे में भेदभाव नहीं करते हैं। वे एक न्यायाधीश की ही भांति सदैव सर्द, भावहीन और परिशुद्ध रहते हैं।
