This is true that Our Sun is the unified form of different attributes of all the planets in our solar system. Still there are few qualities that are unique to Our Sun. Great level of Generosity and Munificent are the qualities that no other planet can equal similar to Our Sun. And these merits are observed in the native having strong and benefic Sun in the horoscope.

This can be exemplified by the Life of Karana the mind-born son of Lord Surya. Despite of knowing the fact that he would lose the battle he happily and generously honoured Indra , the King of demigods, by providing him with his inherited Protection-Shield (Kavach) and Earrings (Kundals).

Dignity and Nobility are again such attributes that can mainly be seen in our Sun. Respecting the oath taken in any circumstance can only be performed by Sun. Sun keeps his words as he keeps his path along the orbit, without worrying about the consequences.

And this can be exemplified by the life of Lord Rama who inherited Lord Surya's dynasty (Lord Rama is famous as ‘SuryaVanshi'). The dignified personality, Lord Rama committed his whole life keeping the words of his father and the nobility of his ancestry.

सूर्य में सभी ग्रहों के गुणों का समावेश है, तो भी कुछ कुछ ऐसे गुण हैं जो मात्र सूर्य में ही विद्यमान है। उन गुणों में एक है ‘महाउदार‘, ‘महादानी‘ होने का गुण। जन्मपत्री में यदि सूर्य ‘शुभ एवं शक्तिशाली‘ हो तो ये गुण जातक में भी विद्यमान होते हैं।

इसका उदाहरण महाभारत नामक ग्रंथ में सूर्य के मानस पुत्र महाप्रतापी कर्ण के जीवन से प्राप्त होता है। अपने काल में महादानी के रूप में प्रसिद्ध कर्ण ने यह जानते हुए भी कि वह अपने जीवन के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण युद्ध में अपने परमशत्रु अर्जुन के हाथों पराजित हो जाएगा, इंद्रदेव की याचना करने पर उन्हें अपनी रक्षा हेतु प्राप्त ‘कुंडल एवं कवच‘ दान में दे दिए थे।

‘मर्यादा‘ एवं ‘गरिमा‘ भी ऐसे दो गुण हैं जिन्हें कोई दूसरा ग्रह सूर्य की भांति धारण नहीं कर सकता है। शपथ लेकर उसे निभाना सूर्य ही कर सकते हैं। जिस प्रकार सूर्य अपने पथ पर सदैव अडिग रहते हैं उसी प्रकार अपने दिए वचन पर भी अडिग रहते हैं, फिर चाहे उसका परिणाम कुछ भी हो जाए।

और इसका उदाहरण हमें सूर्यवंशी प्रभु श्री राम के जीवन से भलीभांति मिल जाता है। मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम श्री रामचद्र भगवान ने अपने पिता के वचन और कुल की मर्यादा की लाज रखने के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित कर दिया था। सूर्यवंशी होने के कारण ही प्रभु श्री राम सूर्य की ही भांती मर्यादा व गरिमा को आत्मिकरूप से धारण कर पाए।
