Along with Goddess MahaLakshmi, Lord Ganesha is also worshiped on this auspicious day. Lord Ganesha is the significance of mind and worshiping Lord Ganesha signifies that one wants to attain the “Never Ending Wealth” with his intellect power.

Deepawali is celebrated on the “Amavasyaa”, (No Moon night) or the last day of the waning Moon of the Hindu month “Kartik”. This is the time to worship the goodness and the nature. The prayer of MahaLakshmi and Lord Ganesha blesses the native with success and prosperity. This is time to ensure the success in each of efforts to survive; survive with happiness and dignity.

Some traditional tips to worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Mahalakshmi on the auspicious day of Deepawali:

One should face the most auspicious direction related to Gods while worshiping Lord Ganesha and Goddess MahaLakshmi. So, one should have his temple (sacred place) in the North-East Direction of his house or workplace.

On the day of Deepawali, the 05th November 2010 light up your entire home with lights and happiness.

The native should wear fresh new cloths on the day of Deepawali. He should keep his mind cool and should adopt peaceful behavior with everyone. He should be happy. He should clean his mind from all the negative thoughts and should avoid anger. Jealousy is not acceptable.

There should be only sounds of joy and happiness to welcome the Goddess of Wealth.

Your house and work place should be clean. Enlighten every dark corner. There should be proper arrangement of light on the main door of the house and work place.

Lit camphor in your house to ensure the positive energizes flowing all around your place.

Open your heart and soul with devotion, aspiration and happiness to appreciate and welcome the eternal joy of life.

Be present at your residence and keep the doors and windows open, especially the front door.

There are two “Shubh Sthir Lagans” (Auspicious Fixed Ascendants), and it is believed that worshiping Goddess MahaLakshmi in these Ascendants ensures the permanent stay of wealth at your place. These “Sthir Lagnas” are Ascendant of Aquarius and Leo.

On 05th November 2010, the Aquarius Ascendant is between 13:35:00 to 15:03:00 (Noon Period). And the Leo Ascendant is between 00:31:00 to 02:47:00 (Mid Night Period of 06th November 2010).

One should at least worship and pray to Goddess MahaLakshmi in one of these two periods to ensure permanent stay of wealth.
