Pushya
Constitutes 03°20' to 16°40' Cancer
Ruling Planet - Saturn
Ruling Deity - Brihaspati (Guru of Devtaas)
Symbol - The milk yielding udder of a cow
NATURE AND CHERACTERASTICS:
Divine; Grounded; Lucky; Learned; Respecting; Wealthy; Ethical; Peaceful; Nurturing & Nourishing Nature; Gentle; Peaceful; Calm & Caring Exterior; Relates to all kinds of productive forces operating within our universe.
Pushya is simply the most loved, benign and compassionate Nakshatra.
Udder of the cow symbolises motherhood and its ability to yield means of growth and development. Wheel represents its ability to move forward with the pace of the world.
It is interesting to note that Brihaspati (Planet Jupiter) relays all of its good qualities much more through Pushya in comparison to its planetary ruler Saturn; Jupiter's benevolence, generosity, compassion, joyfulness & optimism can be experienced in Pushya natives.
It is also interesting to note that Jupiter is best in this Nakshatra in comparison to its own other Nakshatras, viz. Punarvasu, Vishakha or PurvaBhadraPada; That's probably because Jupiter is exalted here.
If negative, Pushya can make its native comfortable in his own zone. He may become rigid, narrow-minded & orthodox in his own attribute, especially in the matter of religion or traditional cultural practices; The native may become overtly prejudiced or overtly protective & possessive about his dear ones & possessions; He could develop suspicion towards anything that does not fit his own esteemed views.
Believed to be best Nakshatra for initiating any new endeavour; Best for worshipping, meditating and chanting mantras.
Probably marriage or partnership is the only trait that not really found working great for Pushya natives; it generally takes time to find a perfect match; But in my experience, once married, it is probably the Nakshatra with fewest numbers of divorces/separations; (All this may be the impact of its planetary Ruler Saturn which gives discipline, obedience and ability to care painstakingly; Saturn is the one that grounds our high-flying ambitions to the reality).
Pushya is an archetype of civilization, prosperity, courteous & refinement.
Body parts are the mouth and face; Ayurvedically Pitta (fiery) element.
Directions are from west to north; Relates to the second half of the month of Pausha that generally falls in January; relates 10thday of waxing and waning phases of the Moon.
Remedies - Offer reverence to cows, priests, gurus, teachers and elderly figurines. Study Great Literature and Vedic Scriptures. Chant mantra: "Om Kam".
NAKSHATRAS - THE CELESTIAL GUIDES
